Easy to fish from shore or on a small boat this is a limited access stretch of water where catch and release is required. The Brazos River has been the subject of many articles in national magazines due not only the great smallmouth fishing, but also for the sizable largemouth and spotted bass populations.

Situated downstream of the Lake Whitney Dam, the river is divided into sections meant to be fished on a one or two day trip. When planning a trip to the river take this fact into your plans because once a section has been started there is no way out until you reach one of the limited access points.
