Spawning smallmouth bass are in or beginning their dirty dance at this time of the year. It is so important for the future of the sport to allow these beauties to “do their thing” and complete the spawn in peace.
Smallmouth bass have natural predators such as other fish, birds, crayfish, etc that are more than happy to prey on them and their nests. Leave the bronzebacks alone right now and fish for trout or something else.
Here is some great video of smallmouths during the spawn.

Hope you enjoy and I know its hard not to target these fish because they are so accessible. Let nature take its course and encourage your friends to leave them alone during the spawn.
Thanks!
